She Has A Name's Trauma Responsive Care Training equips learners to understand and respond to trauma. This could be experienced in academic, professional, or voluntary settings.

Next training session date and location to be determined, most likely in Fall of 2024.

Use the interest form below to let us know you’d like to participate, and we will follow up once details are finalized!

Objectives:

  • Define what trauma is

  • Understand the effects of trauma on the mind and body

  • Explore resilience as a tool for recovering from trauma and serving those affected by trauma.

SHAN Volunteers who are interested in working directly with survivors are required to have completed our anti-human trafficking training in addition to this Trauma Responsive Care Training (TRCT). This includes our scholarship mentors, spiritual support group leaders, thriver's social gathering volunteers, and other direct service programs such as our Solicitor Education Program.

This training is free of charge, but we encourage participants to consider making a $10 donation to SHAN.

FAQ

Is there a prerequisite to attend this training?

If you plan on volunteering with She Has A Name we recommend you learn from our Anti-Human Trafficking Training course before attending TRCT. You can do so by checking out our next live session or learn through our online course at any time. Completing both our HT 101 as well as this TRCT are requirements for SHAN volunteers who wish to work directly with trauma survivors including survivors of human trafficking through one of our survivor care programs as well as solicitors through our Solicitor Education Program.

If you have already taken a human trafficking 101 with another agency or are taking this course to apply in a professional setting, there is no need to complete our HT 101 course before attending.

Is there a fee to attend TRCT?

This training is currently free. We encourage registrants to consider making a $10 donation to She Has A Name (SHAN). This investment goes towards the survivor input and staff time that is invested in creating a evidence-based and trauma-informed training program.

Will this session be recorded?

No. At this time we are only facilitating a live, in-person experience for this training.

Is there a virtual option for me to attend from outside the central Ohio area?

No. Due to the interactive nature of this training we are not providing a virtual option at this time.

How often is this training offered?

We plan to host TRCT twice per year, typically in the spring and fall following a live session of our Anti-Human Trafficking Training.
